Dogs
live in families. The training needs in each situation vary
according to the family circumstances and the individual makeup of the

No
gimmicks just results. If you are serious about getting your dog
trained, call us at Tsuro Dog Training.
Our
programs are designed to build the kind of relationship owners want to
have with their dog. Both the owner and dog will enjoy each
other more as a result of training.
With
over 20 years of experience, we have worked with dogs of all ages,
sizes and breeds. The methods we use and teach are balanced and
reliable, having stood the test of time.
Any
method needs to be viewed in terms of effectiveness and long-term
outcome. Dogs learn from ALL the consequences of their
actions. For example, if
the consequence was enjoyable the behaviour will be repeated. If
the consequence was unpleasant or uncomfortable, the behaviour is more
likely to stop and not be repeated.
This
is the reality of dog training and cannot be avoided. Contrary
to a very popular dog training myth, ignoring behaviour that
is unacceptable will not change it.
Hundreds
of satisfied customers are testimony to the proven effectiveness of
our approach.

Quick, Positive and Reliable Results
from:
1.
Reasonable expectations with clear, simple directions.
2.
An approach that respects the way dogs naturally learn .
3. The
right kind and amount of daily practice.
4. The
ideal learning environment.
IDEAL
LEARNING ENVIRONMENT:
The
best results come from an environment where we control both attention and
distraction. Ideally, all new training exercises are best introduced
in an environment where distractions are minimal. As the dog's
performance improves on each exercise, the level of distraction should
then be increased to help develop focus and improve concentration.
This is why private (1:1) training is generally more desirable than a
class setting.
While
some dogs will do fine in a weekly class setting with daily practice
between classes, many more will do better when the early work is done in
private sessions. Some dogs do best in a "Board and Train"
program where they live with the trainer and are trained daily by him.
The training is then transferred to the owner.

Professional
Training:
This
is the option to choose for the best training results. The dog lives
with us and is worked each day. Training progresses much more
quickly and reliably because the trainer is a professional, experienced in
teaching and dealing with dogs for over twenty years.

Day
Classes: Sometimes called "Talk 'n Train," day
classes allow participants to work their dog in a group like setting along
with other dogs and owners. Day programs are built around my own
personal training times and dog activities and offer each owner the unique
opportunity to join me as they work on the exercises of their choice.
This is not an entry level training program and owners who want to
participate will have already begun their dog's training. (more

Private Sessions:
We can customize the training to meet your needs. Private sessions can cover all areas offered by Tsuro Dog Training in a
much more flexible approach - the needs of you and your dog are the focus
rather than "the class" and sticking to a predetermined agenda.
|
Private sessions are the professionally preferred way of dealing
with many different behavior problems. |

|
Programs
can be much more specific as they are custom tailored, this allows the
relationship to be more fully explored as remedies are sought.
Anxiety
and stress can be more effectively relieved in both owner and dog in
private sessions.
Private
sessions offer more flexibility of scheduling.
Compared to group classes,
fewer lessons are required because we can concentrate the entire lesson on
you and your dog.
Private
sessions are the best approach for working with dogs or owners that
have special needs.

STUDENT
RESPONSIBILITIES: We are
limited in the time we have to work with clients and their dogs. This
means that we sometimes often have a waiting list. We will get
to each dog and owner as quickly as possible and appreciate the patience
of those we serve.
It must
be clear to each student that they control the rate of learning and this
is based on their work at home. Class cannot provide what is not
practiced. While we do (at times) handle the owner's dog, it is understood
that it is still better for the client to handle their
own dog. It is important to us that our clients succeed, however we
cannot be responsible for the degree of success which is based on work
done at home. We do not believe it is in anyone's best interest (dog or
owner) for us to work harder with the dog than his/her owner does. We will do
everything in our power to encourage the owner to work out their
difficulties and practice.
Why
are we doing this?
Our
enjoyment comes from seeing others learn to enjoy their dogs in an
atmosphere of mutual respect and understanding. To develop such a
relationship that lasts a lifetime is the ultimate reward for any dog
owner.
HAPPY DOGS AND OWNERS - IT’S IN EVERYONE’S BEST INTEREST!
